We start our massage session with a cup of delicious, heart-opening, body-relaxing pure Guatemalan cacao. It is a natural drink, one of the healthiest things you can consume. When we drink cacao, we have a moment to talk about what you need from massage, or in life in general. I might also invite you for a short guided meditation and breathwork session.
If this is your first time with pure cacao, you might get surprised by the taste – much richer and bitter than chocolate powder. And with every sip, you relax more. Your body softens and mind gets surprisingly clear. Your mood uplifts.
And then, after 20-30 minutes I invite you to lay down on the massage table. Thanks to cacao, massage can go deeper physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually. The whole session may feel to you like one long meditation, massage that helps you to release deep old tensions from the muscles.
How does cacao work?
It’s all about chemistry. Pure, raw cacao paste is made of cacao beans, and nothing else. These cacao beans are rich in magnesium, calcium, iron and anti-oxidants – all these are important for the functioning of brain and muscles. Cacao stimulates the brain to release neurotransmitters – serotonin (giving us the feeling of happiness), dopamine (pleasure), norepinephrine (awareness, focus) and anandamide (bliss). Cacao is also high in theobromine – heart stimulator that improves the blood flow and opens up the vessels, giving the overall feeling of softness and relaxation.
All these properties make cacao a perfect companion for massage, for relaxation, release, going deeper into the body, feeling more. Would you like to try it?
